Club Chairman Jim Finlay was our sole representative at the latest Athletics NI Cross Country League fixture on Saturday. Running in the 6k Open race in the North West, Jim finished 75th in a time of 28.24. Jim loves the mud!
We also had some runners in racing action today at the Expleo Running Festival in Belfast, with 5 of our athletes tackling the 10k distance. Our first runner over the line was Rick Hill who recorded a new personal best time of 36.33 to finish in 21st position. Then came the ever improving James Gourley who again dipped under the 40 minute mark ably supported by Ross Mercer. James finished 36th in a time of 39.41. We were also represented by the regular racing couple of Nicole & Peter Tucker. Nicole finished well up her age category recording a time of 1.01 to gain bragging rights in their home! Well done to all our runners & thanks to ChampionChip for organising a great meet.
David Turtle, Jim Finlay & Pamela Kane continued the festive racing on New Years Day by competing in the annual Race Over the Glens organised by Ballymena Runners Taking on a new longer & challenging course they each performed well with David Turtle finishing 37th overall in 49.26, Jim Finlay coming 98th in 55.30 and Pamela Kane completing the course in 1.13.34. Well done to all!
